Excerpts from letters from Rev. David Cole regarding marriages he performed.

March 3, 1961

Dear Mr. and Mrs. S….n,

The County Clerk has indicated to me that you have not yet gone in to his office to sign the back of the license form. I would like to suggest to you that the legality of your marriage may be somewhat in doubt until this has been done. I regret very much that we overlooked the signing of the form at the time of the wedding , and has thus caused this inconvenience.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. D….n,

Enclosed is the marriage license, which in the rush of filling out following the wedding ceremony, we forgot to have you sign. Would you please sign where the red X’s are and return the license to me? I cannot impress upon you too strongly the necessity for returning this license as soon as possible so I may file it at the Court House.
